At Kaboomlaser, I make laser-cut wooden wall decorations. Animal shapes, dog breeds (many dog breeds) and such.
Instead of creating animals with geometric shapes, I am using organic shapes. The algorithm is called Reaction-diffusion. It is a math model that create patterns with strong similarities to naturally occuring patterns.
The algorithm was written in glsl, harnessing the power of the GPU to quickly calculate the patterns. Its always mesmèrizing to watch as it grows.
The code is applied to a contour, in the case below of our own dog Coco.
